A quiet radiance moves through the Cross Collection, where my intention is that each painted cross becomes less a fixed emblem and more a living threshold. In these works, I hope to illustrate the cross is not confined to doctrine; it breathes, shapeshifts, and listens. It becomes symbol, prayer, flower, angel, woven lineage—a form continually reinterpreted by the hands that paint it and the histories that surround it. Across the series, color behaves like devotion: soft hums of blues and golds, gentle contrasts that feel like whispered offerings. Texture rises from the surface like woven memory, recalling the way faith is often carried—through touch, repetition, and the quiet endurance of those who came before. Light gathers at the center of each cross, suggesting that illumination is not bestowed from above but generated from within, renewed each time someone pauses long enough to truly see.

Painting as always been a form of therapy of healing that quieted pain and restored purpose. Immersed in creation, I found joy, clarity, and spiritual grounding. The Cross Collection arises from this convergence: cultural memory, personal recovery, and spiritual reflection. These works are called into being by the desire to honor Indigenous experiences of joy and fragmentation, to express the rhythms of life and faith, and to transform suffering into beauty. They stand as meditations on devotion, resilience, and the sacred patterns that shape both community and self.
